CROSS-CULTURAL STUDENTS IN TE CLASSROOM
Indeed, time changes people's behavior. Especially nowadays, some values have also changed, and what was wrong before now is correct and vice versa. The changes between my generation and the new ones are fantastic.
If there was a generational gap expected,
the actual opening is wide, different, but scary.
If we talk about cultures, I dare to
say that not many of them still as it started. Some aspects that make these
changes happen are Globalization, the internet, and the new laws that permit
some prohibited things before, laws where corruption has no
punishment. Still, victims are questioned or even put in jail. We see people
who are fighting in pro-abortion, a variety of genres, for example.
It is a clear demonstration of how
this time, the gap generation has gone too far.
In this regard, we can talk about the
Standards for a student in the class and the teachers.
In my country, when I was young, we didn't have a set of rules to behave in class. It happens that students used to respect teachers and vice versa. We knew to respect our adults, our parents, or older adults.
I studied in private
school for Young Woman, it was conducted by Catholic Nuns,
we were just seven students per class, so we learned to behave like ladies, very obedient,
with high moral and spiritual values.
But at that time, people in my country were like that also. Of course, in some schools,
there were indiscipline students and were sent to the
Headmasters office, to have serious talks, a king of disciplined punish or even expelled.
But unfortunately, with the
government, we had the last 12 years who favored XXI Socialism, they changed
the rules and stated that whatever lousy behavior was in class was the
teachers' fault.
Moreover, parents could not tell off
their children because they were taught that they could take their parents or
teachers to court. So it happened that the ten years that I worked in a school,
I had to be very careful about what word to say when there were nasty students.
This law turned the student and children at the same time to be disrespectful
and threatening.
Some young parents who get adults
within these ten years were always against teachers, so they forgive their
children errors and put them above teachers, who became low social levels
without much in favor. There is a lot of things I can say about it.
As far as my experience, I haven't seen
much difference in attitudes among other cultures students. Nowadays. Most of
them come from Europe or the USA or even some, but few from Asia and I do not
see much contrast; kids and young people act, move, and behave very alike
according to current tendencies.
