DIFFRENCE IN MANNERS
According to levels and roles, each
culture has its manner code, polite, or informal ways to behave in society.
Nevertheless, the rules don't always
match with different cultures or ways of thinking.
Brother Iver explains some of these
different manners and that tourist should be aware, so they won't do any action
considered rude or offensive, although they were not intended to be.
There are grades of politeness,
according to the roles in society. For example, Monarchy has an ancient settle
policy to treat important world people. It starts with inviting o rejecting
invitations, welcoming, food service, time, and even clothing. Everything has
strict procedures that have to be followed in a precise time and way.
Likewise, according to polite norms,
influential people like business people or politics interrelate with similarities
based on specific polite rules. For example, Presidents of Countries gathering
with other presidents. Or CEOs of big enterprises, people in business, and
corporations. They always have to follow specific politeness rules such as
punctuality, which warrants a mutually beneficial relationship and trustworthy
deals, especially with Asian countries who are very strict in their policies.
Of course, ordinary people also have
rules to behave, less strict but essential to know, in this manner, many
misinterpretations of attitudes can be avoided, assuring to get along well.
There are some differences in
all countries of how to behave, set the table, start eating, get dressed
according to events, etc. It reflects the uses and customs of each.
These differences in cultures are
brought to the classroom. When abroad students are part of it, teachers should
learn about their lifestyle, understand the distinct manners, and enhance students'
relationship, making everybody learn from other cultures,
enriching their knowledge and consideration for outsiders.
But there are issues with young people
learning to fight against the social established status; thus, their behavior
is irrational and ridiculous. They are trying to destroy society and culture
standards.
And it is a big problem for teachers
and parents to introduced them values, good manners, and high spiritual values.
As a parent, I am aware that we have a tough challenge, and we have to work united with teachers to avoid our children get lost in the waves of the changing world.
Would it be possible?
